Merge collector marking sleeve with an outlet slider

Mark the merge cuts on your primaries in minutes. Slip the sleeve onto the tube, set the black slider to the outlet size you want and draw round the sleeve. Cut to the lines and the primaries fit together into a tight merge collector, with the merged end at your outlet size.

One sleeve does every primary in the collector, and the slider gives you four outlet sizes from the same sleeve.

Which one do I need?

Choose your tube size, the number of primaries going into the collector (3, 4 or 6 into 1) and the merge angle (2.5" 6 into 1 is available at 15° and 20° only). 15° suits most 3 into 1 and 4 into 1 merges; 20° keeps a 6 into 1 merge shorter; 10° gives a longer, gentler merge. This listing is for OD tube from 1.5" to 2.5", including 1-5/8", 1-7/8" and 2-1/8"; for SCH10S pipe, see the SCH10S version.

How it works

  1. Cut the primary to length. For a flat merge end, cut the end at the merge angle (15° on a 15° sleeve) instead of square, with the short side of the cut on the outside of the collector.
  2. Squeeze the tabs on the slider and slide it to your outlet size: the line on the slider sits on the line next to the number. It clicks into place at each size.
  3. Slide the sleeve onto the tube until the tube end stops against the slider, with the slider on the outside of the bend (away from the middle of the collector).
  4. Draw along both edges of the sleeve, slide it off and cut to the lines.
  5. Do the same on every primary, then tack them together. The merged end is your outlet size, ready for the flange or collector. Round tubes leave a small V where each pair meets, which fills as you weld the outlet on.

Each sleeve has four outlet settings, chosen to suit the total size of the primaries. The numbers are on the rail next to the slider.
